The application period for the Finnair Trainee Program starts around October-November and is open for three weeks.

You can submit your application to the trainee program from our career site. Fill in all the information asked for on the form and attach your CV, cover letter and transcript of records. Please note that we do not process applications submitted via email.

Yes, you can apply for up to two positions. You can choose your preferred field(s) for your trainee period on the application form.

  • Our ideal candidate is currently pursuing or has recently completed an academic degree within the field of Business, Economics, Technology, or other relevant area (typically, our trainees are at least 3rd year students). We require strong communication skills in English and in some positions also in Finnish. During the trainee period, you must be able to work full-time.  
  • Please note that depending on the work role, the hiring process may include a pre-employment security clearance, a drug test and/or a pre-employment medical examination.

Takeoff – Finnair Trainee Program will start flexibly in spring

The trainee period starts flexibly in spring. However, the starting time can vary depending on the business needs and also your study schedule. The trainee period lasts from 4 to 6 months.

The monthly salary for the trainee period is €3,000. All trainees have the same salary.

Depending on your position, you will work around the Finnair campus near Helsinki Airport or in a hybrid work model combining in-office and remote work. Please note that as a trainee, you cannot work solely remotely.

Some trainees have continued to work with us part-time, permanently, or as Master’s Thesis workers after their trainee period.

Yes, you can. However, you must have the right to work and live in Finland during the trainee program without sponsorship from Finnair. If you currently live abroad, you can participate in the interview via Teams.
